There’s no need to travel to New Orleans to hear great jazz this summer –Denver has its own Jazz Festival featuring some of the most renowned jazz musicians all in one place for a great free thing to do in Denver this year. City Park Jazz is returning for its 29th season of free Sunday night concerts in Denver, Colorado this summer with a long lineup of musical interludes from some of jazz music’s finest. Enjoy 10 weeks of performances from June through August, including the opening night performance on June 7 from Selina Albright. Weekly concerts begin June 7 and continue through August 9th, hosted from 6-8pm. A tradition for over a century, City Park is legendary for hosting open-air concerts and events in Denver, with great views from Ferril Lake. Since 1986 City Park Jazz has been hosting thousands of guests every year during the free summer concert series and over the years has grown to become a beloved summertime treat (in 2011 the event hosted more than 80,000 guests!). A community supported charity, City Park Jazz has been an institution in Denver, emphasizing the importance of music in the community.
