Spring is in full bloom, and if you're looking for the best ways to soak up the season here in Denver, we here at the Holiday Inn of Cherry Creek have got you covered! One of the best ways to enjoy the season is to take a hike through the majestic Colorado wilderness and enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds that the open country has to offer. Here are just a couple of our favorite hikes just outside the city and minutes from your room at the Holiday Inn.
Right now is a great time to check out the many wildflowers that bloom in the late Spring. One of the best trails to catch them on is the Audubon Trail. This 8-mile round trip is a moderate hike and offers some of the best glimpses of the incredible species of wildflowers that inhabit the area. Be sure to get an early start though - you don't want to be coming back down the trail as it's getting dark out! Pack lunch and a few snacks for the way and get ready for some incredible views.
For a quick and easy and scenic trip that's perfect for beginners and children, try out the Pines to Peaks loop on Bald Mountain. This is a 1-mile trek that offers beautiful views and the calming solitude of nature all year-round. Bald Mountain is also home to a number of colonies of wildflowers, including the beautifully purple pasqueflowers.
Get out there and enjoy the great outdoors that Denver has to offer! You won't regret it. Afterwards, you can look forward to a relaxing evening back in your room at the Holiday Inn of Cherry Creek!
