We understand that because there is just so much to do in Denver, you might not be thinking of getting out of the city on your visit here. But much of this city's magic derives from its close proximity to some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes and beauty in the nation! It's definitely worth at least a day trip out of the city to catch a glimpse and experience what the rest of the area has to offer. Don't worry; we'll be right here at the Holiday Inn waiting for you to get back!
Of course, anytime the outdoors and Colorado are mentioned, one would be remiss not to mention Rocky Mountain National Park! Clocking in at over 400 square miles of glorious landscapes, booming mountains, crystal clear lakes, and the world's highest continuous highway, Trail Ridge Road, this is simply not a national park to miss! The entrance is only an hour and a half north of Denver.
Even closer is Fort Collins - just 65 miles north from Denver on I-25. Fort Collins proudly houses Colorado State University and boats over 50 parks and hundreds of miles of trails. Now is especially a great time to go check it out, as the white waters of Cache la Poudre River become an oasis for kayaking and rafting in the summertime!
If you're looking for something a little less intense, check out Golden! It's an amazing transportation back to the times of the Old West and pioneers that went on to shape this amazing part of the country, and it's only 25 minutes from Denver!
Your options in Denver are virtually limitless so you might as well just extend your stay with us at the Holiday Inn now to try and soak in as much as you can!
