Denver Coliseum Mineral, Fossil & Gem Show

About 2 year(s) ago by MediaConnect
Denver Coliseum Mineral, Fossil & Gem Show
You won’t find a larger trade show in the United States than the Denver Coliseum Mineral, Fossil & Gem Show. Starting Saturday, September 6, 2014 and running through Sunday, September 14, 2014, the eclectic event, which is 40% bigger than last year, boasts 250 dealers on two indoor levels and in 100 tents on the outside of the Coliseum. They’ll be showcasing a myriad of items, including agates, meteorites, fossils, hand-made jewelry, crystals, emeralds, rubies, beads, artisan jewelry boxes, and petrified wood. Prices range from a minutely low $1 to a mind-boggling high $1 million. As for admission and parking, both are absolutely free. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll get to meet the cast of “Prospectors,” the wacky Weather Channel program about a group of miners who set out to find the rarest gems in America.

The Denver Coliseum Mineral, Fossil & Gem Show is presented by Eons Expos, the brainchild of Lowell Carhart and his sister Christine. Once the success of this show was solidified, they brought in their brother Russell to help start a new venture in Tucson back in 2010. Today, the 22nd Street Show is one of the city’s top five fossil and mineral shows. The family kept the success train moving forward with the NY/NJ Gem & Mineral Show. It was a big hit in 2012 and it drew nearly100 additional exhibitors the following year. While their shows are geared to museums and gift shops, the general public is more than welcome to attend.
