Although Denver may be synonymous with natural beauty, we're also home to an impressive and expansive art scene, and it's just a stone's throw away from the Holiday Inn at Cherry Creek! The Art Gym at Marylhurst University is a fine example of our creative spirit. Open Tuesday- Sunday from 12-4 Admission is free to the public. This weekend, check out Selfie: an examination of self-portraiture in the age of the "selfie". The artists featured come from diverse backgrounds and explore self-portraiture in unique ways and media: photography, print, video installation, sculpture and mixed media.
From there, check out the Super Ordinary Gallery- which is anything but! Right now, guests can enjoy A Modern Eden- a critically acclaimed exhibition by Marsha Robinson. According to gallery director Pedro Barrios "Robinson's intricate floral patterns and compositions leave the viewer captivated with natural delight." For something a little more practical, visit the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. Dedicated just as much to the ages-old tradition of quilting as a communal activity as it is to the quilts themselves this museum is fun for the whole family.
If you've got young children, we suggest heading over to the The Fox Family Idea Box at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The top floor is dedicated to family fun. There's plenty of comfortable seating and tons of art-making activities for children. This is just a small sample of the expansive arts culture here in Denver. The Cherry Creek Holiday Inn is proud of this heritage and tradition. After a long day of sightseeing, our comfy rooms will be quite a welcomed sight!
