It’s 11 days of non-stop music, carnival rides, stand-up comedy, magic, and just good old-fashioned family fun. It’s the 2014 Colorado State Fair, which gets underway in Pueblo, CO beginning Friday, August 22 and runs through Monday, September 1. This year’s entertainment is top-notch. There will be several nights of classic rodeo action at the Budweiser Rodeo Arena courtesy of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Some of these events will be punctuated afterwards by performances from country singers like Clay Walker and Chris Young. Fans of the 1960s will not want to miss the Happy Together Tour 2014, featuring The Turtles, Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, and Gary Lewis & The Playboys. Comedy is also a major presence at the Colorado State Fair and bringing the big laughs will be Gabriel Iglesias.
You’ll also be treated to some pretty cool attractions that are absolutely free. Ole Doc EZee will be dazzling and delighting audiences with his multitude of mind-blowing magic tricks throughout the Fairgrounds three times a day. The Aussie Kingdom is home to all sorts of cute and cuddly critters from Down Under, including kangaroos, wallabies, and wallaroos, which you’ll be able to pet and even hold. In addition to the animals, three stage shows will be performed each day. And for incredible acts of strength that you’re sure to find utterly amazing, check out John Beatty, aka The Strongman. You won’t believe your eyes as this former finalist on “America’s Got Talent” does everything from curling frying pans to bending bars.
