2014 BMW Championship In Cherry Hills, CO
The fourth and final major golf tournament of the year has ended but that doesn’t mean there still isn’t life left on the PGA Tour. Come see the top 70 professionals on the FedEx Cup points list as they bring their “A” game to the 2014 BMW Championship. Taking place at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills, CO, the tournament, which is America’s second oldest (it was formerly the Western Open), will run from  Thursday, September 4 through Sunday, September, 7. Past winners include Rory McIlroy, who won in 2012, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson. Designed by William S. Flynn in 1922, the stunning par-71 course has been the site of 10 major championships, including the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship, and the U.S. Amateur.

There’s more to the BMW Championship than just competitive and exciting golf. Some of the proceeds from the tournament will go to the Evans Scholars Foundation, a wonderful college scholarship program that benefits caddies all across the United States. Every year, over 800 of the neediest of these unsung heroes with the heavy bags slung over their shoulders will receive full tuition and housing. The scholarship was set up by Chick Evans, who achieved fame in the 1910s and 1920s as one of the best American amateur golfers. In 1916, he won the U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur, making him the first amateur to accomplish that feat in the same year.
